Where can I find trustworthy medical information online?
In addition to talking to their doctor, many parents turn to the internet for advice on how to care for their children. It is important to use trusted, evidence-based educational sites to gather your information. Be wary of information shared on social media that is often without appropriate citations.
Two of my favorite online resources are: http://www.healthychildren.org/ from the American Academy of Pediatrics and http://www.kidshealth.org/ from Nemours Children’s Health. Many answers to common questions about how to keep children healthy and safe are addressed on these websites. A great app to track your child’s development is Milestone Tracker from the CDC. You can learn more about it here: CDC’s Milestone Tracker App | CDC. The app even gives suggestions on how you can help your children reach their developmental goals.
Remember, always reach out to your pediatrician with medical concerns about your children. We are happy to answer your questions and can be reached by phone or through our patient portal.
Your child's health is your most important asset. You should entrust it only to the best professionals.
